Fibromyalgia, Fatigue, Chronic Fatigue, Always Tired, Tired, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, CFS, Fibromyalgia Relief, Chronic Fatigue ReliefFibromyalgia (FM) is known for widespread pain throughout the body. It has not, as of yet, been determined why FM happens. This leaves  medical doctors with limited capability to provide their patients with proper care for fibromyalgia. Most often, family physicians will recommend medications to help with the pain and sleep issues, as these are two of the major symptoms of FM. However, there is a trend developing as people begin seeking alternative, natural ways to care for their condition.

Natural Options Being Tried for Fibromyalgia

Here are a few natural options that are available to try to help fibromyalgia sufferers:

  • Herbal supplements: There are a number of supplements to reduce inflammation, help one to sleep better, and improve the health of the joints.
  • Massage: This can help improve blood flow and relieve sore muscles.
  • Acupuncture: Placing needles at specific points to relieve pain
  • Chiropractic care: Keeping the spine in proper alignment can improve immune system function and help the body to communicate better with the brain.

While just a brief list of alternative, natural ways to care for fibromyalgia, there are a number of other options. However, one that has been proven to be quite effective is chiropractic care. Why is that so?

Fibromyalgia Responds Well to Upper Cervical Care

We have had much success here at Precision Chiropractic West in helping our fibromyalgia patients cope with their pain. If the bones of the upper neck, the C1 and C2, are misaligned, they can be placing the brainstem under stress and causing it to malfunction. This, in turn, impedes communication between the brain and body – very possibly why the brain thinks there is more pain than there actually is.

We use a very gentle method to help realign the bones of the neck. We do not pop or crack them but encourage them to move back into place. This restores communication and helps the body to function better overall. This is often all that is needed to see a reduction in the symptoms of fibromyalgia. Some see it go away and not come back.
